Death of Municipal Council employee creates uproar
The activists of Rashtriya Majdoor Sena demonstrated in the council’s premises with the dead body of an employee of municipal council, died in the late night of the 4th of August. Seshrao Lohwe (51), The deceased, a fourth class employee of the council, used to sprinkle pesticides in the drainages and other places of the city. He was admitted to the Sewagram Hospital after reporting illness because of poison, went in his body through the leakage of the sprinkle machine (Taki). The machine is generally loaded on the back of the sprinkler. The doctor also confirmed his death because of poison, reached in his body.
It is learnt that he had reported the leak to the officials of the council along with its president, Manorma Sahu, who hardly paid heed to his complaints. One more of his colleagues was also reported ill in the similar fashion, because of the leaks in the sprinkle machine, though survived somehow. But Sheshrao was not that much fortunate and took his last breath in the late night of Thursday.
The district president of the RMS, Sharda Jhamre demanded job for the son of the deceased and denied to take the dead body from the premise until his son gets joining orders. Talking to the TOI she claimed that the officials of the council did not provide the mask, specs, long boot, dresses and other safety materials, according to the rule. This negligence finally killed the employee, Jhamre said.
When contacted the president of council, M.Sahu said,” I’ll provide all the compensations and job, fitted in the rules. However she did not comment on the charges of negligence of her duty and her ignorance to the complaint of the deceased.

3. Though the CID has not come at any conclusion in its inquiry, being made in the theft case of Gandhi’s Specs, which were found missing from Sewagram Ashram, in the last June, a dweller of the Ashram has been banned to enter the Ashram premise, which is being understood in the same theft connection. The Ashram Administration has prohibited ‘Vishwas Sahstri to take part in any activity of Ashram and banned him forever. Vishwas had allegedly quarreled with a resident of Ashram, Jalandhar during collective Lunch in June, 2011, which ended with an FIR against Jalndhar. Vishwas was reportedly part of a group of the Ashram residents, which was targeting another group. ‘The Ahram, divided in groups has earned bad names after the theft of Gandhi’s glasses of the national importance.
Vishwas has contacted the media and said that the Ashram administration is torturing me and has not provided meals for some days and lastly has banned me. However he could not be contacted as he had been to Bhadrawati since last two days. The administration of Ashram however charges him that he is involved in defaming the Ashram.
